coaching principles
-
trust
Coaching can sometimes be a challenging experience, where deep seated views, attitudes and beliefs are brought to light and examined for their ongoing contribution in your life.
I promise to:
• respect and work with your perspectives, learning styles and life experiences
• have ongoing faith in your innate wisdom and ability to succeed at what you set out to achieve
• be honest, sincere and courageous in my communication and be accountable for what I say I will do
• be attuned to your feelings when sensitive issues arise
• hold the trust you put in me in the deepest regard by keeping our conversations confidential
-
presence
Our coaching sessions will be dedicated time and space for us to explore your goals and desires.
I will:
• ask you lots of questions to fully understand your key challenges
• use my intuition to know when something deeper is going on
• be humble in knowing what I don’t know
• be courageous to challenge you on hard issues
• adjust my approach as the situation demands
• be comfortable working with strong emotions that may arise
• take as much time as you need
-
accountability
For real learning and growth to happen, coaching depends on mutual trust and accountability.
We agree to:
• engage as equal partners in the coaching process, with integrity and in good faith
• be fully present in all our coaching sessions, not distracted by other engagements or under the influence of any substances
• follow through on commitments we make to each other and ourselves
• acknowledge the limitations of coaching and that if other professionals are more suitable for the issues raised, it may be appropriate to refer you on
• be open and up front about any concerns we have with the coaching process
• communicate, communicate, communicate!
it’s all about you!
To achieve the best outcomes from your coaching experience, our coaching sessions are guided solely by your needs and circumstances. I will listen carefully to understand what you hope to achieve and explain clearly how I can help, if you choose to work with me. For the time we are together, your concerns are my concerns. I will always seek your agreement before we start working together and if your issues take the coaching in a new direction. My focus is on helping you.
